Stretching images - Xwindows

This is a discussion on Stretching images - Xwindows ; I am drawing a string using XDrawString in pixmap which is created using XCreatePixmap. I want to stretch that string considering it as a image and want to draw on the window. If anybody knows please reply for this....

    Imlib can do this, and is available on many Linux distros.

    Wouldn't it be easier to use a XLFD font matrix to strech the font
    itself instead of doing it "manually" ?
