I upgraded from
xserver 4.1 to xserver 4.3 and
kernel 2.4.18 to kernel 2.6.4
I also upgraded the xlibmesa-dri stuff accordingly.

However, DRI fails to initialize properly. setting the debug flag and
running glxinfo, I get the error:
LIBGL: drmMap of sarea failed!

However, the xserver log shows absolutely no errors and that DRI is set up
properly. Not only that, but running the new kernel with both the old and
new version of xserver causes the system to completely freeze up rock-solid
every 30 mins or so. It won't even respond to the Alt+SysRq.

On startup, it correctly detects the chipset and agpgart.

Please help!
