  1. Resolution problems on a Dell Inspiron Laptop

    I have some difficulties setting the correct resolution on my LapTop (Dell Inspiron).
    According to the tech specs. it should be 1400x1050, but somehow i fail to
    start X in that resolution. I have a Geforce2 Go 32mb and uses nvidias
    latest driver (1.0-4365) for FreeBSD. Besides, its a FreeBSD 5.2 installation.

    In /var/log/XFree86.0.log i get this message:
    (II) NVIDIA(0): Not using default mode "1400x1050" (hsync out of range)

    But i have changed my hsync and it doesnt seem to matter.
    If anyone has a clue what might be the problem, feel free to say so.

    I was only able to use 1400x1050 after specifying an explicit modeline
    in the config file which is here:
