Hi,

I'm running XFree86 4.1.0.1 (Debian woody). When I'm using
a doublescan mode such as

Modeline "640x480" 79.44 640 672 816 848 480 488 496 505 doublescan

the mouse pointer flickers a lot more than when using a
non-doublescan mode such as

Modeline "640x480" 39.72 640 672 816 848 480 488 496 505

(By "flicker" I mean, for example, load a big picture into
Mozilla, put the mouse over the main window, and scroll
around with the arrow keys - the mouse cursor flickers.
It's really obvious if you use the fractal explorer Xaos.)

I'm using big-cursor and a Matrox Mystique 2MB graphics card
so I can understand it flickering because the software has
to update it, but is there any reason why it flickers much
more in doublescan? (I've tried lots of other modes
including high-resolution modes and I can only reproduce it
in doublescan modes.)

(doublescan otherwise gives a much better picture, since the
non-doublescan version has visible scan lines)

Thanks, Silas
