    Does anyone know how to set the mouse pointer to 0.0 (screen
    coordinates) in GNU/Linux Fedora 1?

    Install the xmacro utilities from http://xmacro.sourceforge.net/ .
    Then:

    echo "MotionNotify 0 0" | xmacroplay :0

    ....and the mouse pointer will move to 0,0 , assuming that the user
    executing the command has access rights to display :0. HTH,
