It is Not clear how the topology is, might be that you want to explain the
Internet stream rather then what connected to what.
Internet to Smart phone to.... to....to.. Browser.
In addition I assume that the Wireless are all 892.11b/g capable of one of
the device can translate for Phone Wireless to 802.11b/g
Most of the Phone type Internet Wireless do not land them self for sharing
even if they are Windows compatible.

My host is a WinXP machine connected to the internet via usb/DUN on my 2003 smartphone. It is connected to the wireless router via 10base ethernet. The Wince
4.2 device uses a netgear ma401 wireless 16bit card.

The network wizard wants me to run a disk on clients which is hard with a wince pad and I just cant seem to figure out how to do it manually. To make things more difficult I have no means to sync it to install software that doesn't come as a cab file. The wireless driver I have installed doesn't seem to give me a full range of options.

Is the WinCE device a PocketPC? Is it running Windows Mobile 5 or an earlier
version of Windows Mobile like 2003 SE or 2003? I have some general guidance
including help with the Connection Manager. This page was written for the WM

Interesting to note is the lease time on the wince pad and also the
"host/dns suffix names. I don't know how this works because the last time I
set up a home network it was with win 98 and it was all done manually. I
can't even find a workgroup choice on the wince pad. With XP the wizard does
it or it tells you "You need to buy a new magic wand."

Any help would be much appreciated. My first computer was a TRS80 but I have
never needed to keep up with networking. I cannot believe how utterly
baffling it can be.

And not to get off topic. Is it possible to upgrade the embedded windows OS
in this device?

The device I have is called a skeye.pad from Hoft & Wessel. It would be
comperable to a "Simpad"
800x600 screen, SA1110 processor, Windows CE .NET Version 4.10(Build 908)
The card is a NG Ma401 16bit using a generic PRISM400 2577.cab driver.
I have firewall and Wep disabled. Internet options on the Wince is set to
use LAN
DHCP serves up a good IP.
Router 192.168.2.1 "belking54g"
XP 192.168.2.2 "tina"
Wince 192.168.2.3 "kitchen"
I can ping kitchen from tina and tina from kitchen by name and IP.
I can navigate to the router setup page from both the XP & Wince machines.

What I can't do ->
1. See any shared folders on XP from Wince.
2. See Wince when I try to view workgroup computers on the XP machine.
3. Activesync
4. I'll work on ICS after I get a navigable network.
