Did my wireless card just crap out?
Okay, seemingly randomly, my computer no longer sees any wireless networks
whatsoever. (which stinks, since I don't even have a landline) ditto if I
turn off the firewall. The only thing that happened last night was a java
update, but I can't imagine how that would have changed things. At least my
corner cafe has ethernet ports.
This has happened before but never for more than an hour, and I always
figured it was some sort of interference... but it's been 24 hours now.
I'm guessing my wireless card has crapped out?

Re: Did my wireless card just crap out?
if you think it was the java update, uninstall it /use system
restore to a point before the update. What happens?
Does the device show in device manager?
did it get turned off? disabled?
posting the text output of ipconfig /all might be helpful.

Re: Did my wireless card just crap out?
Device does show up and is enabled.
Have tried restore yet, but will do so. (I doubt it could be java)
Hmm - when I try ipconfig, the window pops up for less than a second and
then disappears.

Re: Did my wireless card just crap out?
you need to open a cmd prompt (don't run from the start menu)

Re: Did my wireless card just crap out?
Hard to tell what is going on. if it happens again, please post
again and include an ipconfig /all when the machine is in the bad
state.
