external drive power on boot? [simple question]
hi,
a colleague has an external cd-rom drive that he only uses
occasionally. when he does decide to use it, he has to turn the pc
off, turn the drive on and then boot the pc.
is there a way to make the external drive power up on booting the pc
every time? (a bios setting or something)? it's a windows nt box and a
yamaha external cd-rom if that makes any difference.
thanks for any help

Re: external drive power on boot? - oops
i apologise, i misunderstood that the drive was relatively new. having seen
it i now know that there is no way to get it to power up on machine boot
since there is no 'sleep' mode, only a hard on/off switch for the power.
