hello,

first off, im a webdev, and not a win admin guy. so im no expert on
this stuff. that said...

i am a developing webapp that require a client-side certificate in
order to talk to a partner's webservice. i have finished this app and,
on Windows XP, i can install their cert via MMC and everything is honky
dory.

but on a Windows 2000 Server (W2K), things are not. While installing
the .pfx cert on the Local Machine, i get this:

"An internal error occured. The private key that you are importing
might require a cryptographic service provider that is not installed on
your system."

now ive done some research and have found the following MS posting:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313494

....but it says thats only on SP1 & SP2, and to install the latest SP.
our machine has Service Pack 4 (SP4) installed. so, its not that easy.

can anyone help?

thanks!
matt
