I am having trouble setting permissions with cacls/xcacls.
On a windows NT machine I have a number of directories with
permissions for
(don't ask). I would like to set
these to a known group
with cacls/xcacls. I have found that I can not set the
permissions exactly. Does anyone
know if this can be done or if it is important?

e.g.
C:\>cacls C:\DIR
C:\DIR F
(OI)(CI)(IO)F
BUILTIN\Administrators:F
BUILTIN\AdministratorsOI)(CI)(IO)F

C:\>echo Y|cacls C:\DIR /G UserGroup:F Administrators:F
C:\>cacls C:\DIR
C:\DIR DOMAIN\UserGroupOI)(CI)F
BUILTIN\AdministratorsOI)(CI)F

C:\>xcacls C:\DIR /G UserGroup:F Administrators:F /Y
C:\>cacls C:\DIR
C:\DIR DOMAIN\UserGroupOI)(IO)F
DOMAIN\UserGroupCI)F
BUILTIN\AdministratorsOI)(IO)F
BUILTIN\AdministratorsCI)F

C:\>xcacls C:\DIR /G UserGroup:F;TF Administrators:F;TF /Y
C:\>cacls C:\DIR
C:\DIR DOMAIN\UserGroupCI)F
BUILTIN\AdministratorsCI)F

thanks,
Mark
