Hi, we have a WIN2003 file server with mixed WIN2000 and WINXP clients.
I have a problem where one of the group names in the security tab
changes on some folders when a user will copy it into a shared folder.
The shared folder has the "everyone" group with read only permission
set to propagate to child objects. On some folders the "everyone" gets
replaced with the "engineering" group. When I try to change it I get
the error that that permission is inherited and cannot be changed. I
have to remove the "inherit from parent" check box, remove the
permissions and then recheck the "inherit from parent" box. Can
anybody help me track down why it is getting confused with the two
groups? We recently moved from a 2000AD to a 2003 AD. Any help will
be appreciated.
