  1. Silent installation of IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 on s390xGNU/Linux

Hi, there are some strange errors while installing "IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1" on RedHat in console mode.
Tell me please what is wrong with all of this!
    Here are my steps:

    I downloaded this distributives:

1.IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1- IBM WebSphere Portal Server Content Install V6.1.0.1
    (W-Setup, A-Setup, H-Setup, HI-Setup, I-Setup, IL-Setup, PL-Setup, ZL-Setup, SS-Setup, SO-Setup) Multiplatform Multilingual (C1TQ4ML)
2.IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1 - IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment for Linux on System z (64-bit),
    V6.1.0.19 (ZL-2) Multilingual (C1TS2ML)
3.IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1- IBM WebSphere Portal Server Content component (Disk 1 of 4)
    V6.1.01 (W-3, A-3, H-3, HI-3, I-3, IL-3, PL-3, ZL-3, SS-3, SO-3) Multiplatform Multilingual (C1U2WML)
4.IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1- IBM WebSphere Portal Server Content component (Disk 2 of 4)
    V6.1.01 (W-4, A-4, H-4, HI-4, I-4, IL-4, PL-4, ZL-4, SS-4, S0-4) Multiplatform Multilingual (C1U2ZML)
5.IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1- IBM WebSphere Portal Server Content component (Disk 3 of 4)
    V6.1.01 (W-5, A-5, H-5, HI-5, I-5, IL-5, PL-5, ZL-5, SS-5, SO-5) Multiplatform Multilingual (C1U32ML)
6.IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 and Lotus Web Content Management V6.1.0.1- IBM WebSphere Portal Server Content component (Disc 4 of 4)
    V6.1.01 (W-5A, A-5A, H-5A, HI-5A, I-5A, IL-5A, PL-5A, ZL-5A, SS-5A, SO-5A) Multiplatform Multilingual (C1U36ML)

Then I extracted every of them to its folder (ZL-Setup, ZL-2, ZL-3, ZL-4, ZL-5, ZL-5A), then in "ZL-Setup/installresponse.txt" I edited such parameters like
    -G licenseAccepted="true" and so on.

    At the end, after executing
    /ZL-Setup/install.sh -options "installresponse.txt" -silent
in /tmp/wpinstalllog.txt I see this errors:

    MultiPlatform.install, com.ibm.wps.install.PortalLocationValidator, msg2, Validating beanid=globalInstall field=location
    MultiPlatform.install, com.ibm.wps.install.PortalLocationValidator, msg2, Validating target directory /opt/IBM/WebSphere

    MultiPlatform.install, com.ibm.wps.install.PortalLocationValidator, msg2, Portal location is invalid
MultiPlatform.install, com.ibm.wps.install.PortalLocationValidator, msg2, Unexpected error: cannot display Portal location invalid message

I must notice that there is no directory /opt/IBM !

And in /tmp/installmessages.txt I see this:

EJPIC0007E: Operating System prerequisite check failed. Refer to the message log file /tmp/installmessages.txt for additional information.

What does "The installed Operating System level is not supported" mean? I'm using distributives exactly for my os!

Please help me to understand what is going wrong, and how to install Websphere Portal!
    Thank you!

It sounds like you or someone else maybe had another installation on this system that was not properly cleaned up. Can you go through and follow these instructions to make sure your Linux environment is completely cleaned up from any previous Portal installation?

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...ninst_man.html

From what you've described, it sounds like Step 6 in the above link is going to be the most relevant.

  4. Re: Silent installation of IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 on s390xGNU/Linux

Hmm from the snippet, it seems we have a problem creating the Portal databases. Can you zip up and upload the PortalServer/log directory?

    Oh, sure!
it would be great if u'll find the cause.
here are the PortalServer/log and some files from /tmp

  6. Re: Silent installation of IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.1 on s390xGNU/Linux

    Thanks for sending!

The install is failing to create the Derby database because of this reason (from LocalizeTrace.archive5.log):

[sqlproc] ERROR XSLAN: Database at /opt/IBM/WebSphere/wp_profile/PortalServer/derby/wpsdb has an incompatible format with the current version of the software. The database was created by or upgraded by version 10.3.
    [sqlproc] at org.apache.derby.iapi.error.StandardException.newE xception(Unknown Source)
    [sqlproc] at org.apache.derby.impl.store.raw.log.LogToFile.read ControlFile(Unknown Source)
    [sqlproc] at org.apache.derby.impl.store.raw.log.LogToFile.boot (Unknown Source)

This usually implies that there is a problem with the underlying WAS installation, since WAS installs Derby. Looking at your response file, I caught something unusual:

First you tell it to install WAS with Portal, which means it's going to install WAS v6.1.0.19:
    -W wasPanel.installChoice="install"

But later on, you provide CD ZL-5a, which is only for WAS v7:
    -W userInputCDLocProfile.cdPath="/A/ZL-5a"

You should be using ZL-5 here instead. Are you using physical media or did you download the installation images from passport advantage? If it's passport advantage, C1U30ML is ZL-5. C1U34ML is ZL-5a. You should have downloaded C1U30ML.

If you this checks out to be true, you will need to completely uninstall both Portal and WAS, then reattempt the installation pointing to the correct ZL-5.

    Hope that helps!

    Great, man!
I installed AppServer v7 and then make WS Portal to use existed AppServer.

    Thank you very much!
