    Hi Jim,

Yes app server started from the was admin level and able to login as admin user. But not able to login as end users.

    Thanks and Reg,

  4. Re: after database transfer - WebApplication is not available

not the app server, the specific app, usually when you get this error it is because the web app is not started in was.

one thing you can do is try to update the portlet through the portal admin console and see if it resolves the issue

  5. Re: after database transfer - WebApplication is not available

    Hi Jim

    thanks for your quick response,

web app is up and running.

update meaning, try to stop and restart or install it again or update any property or context-root.

This is defult ear comes along with portal server which is Login_Port_pplication_PA_dlvxk11.ear

    Thanks and Reg,

    Arun

  6. Re: after database transfer - WebApplication is not available

just try to update the war, from installableApps directory, if it is the login portlet then use the login url to login and get to the admin console

then click on the login portlet war, and click the update button, then point it to the war in installableApps and let it try to update it.

  7. Re: after database transfer - WebApplication is not available

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for your help. Able to login into portal server after web app update with context-root.

But still I have some issues,

In our project we have more than one portal server (let us say around 3 different individual development server instances and not clustered one) and all of them need to point to same database (DB2)

I have transfer the database from cloudspace to db2 from webshereportalserver 1.

After the database transfer we need connect the same database from webshereportalserver 2 and webshereportalserver3.

I have followed the steps provide @ http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...v6r0/index.jsp we have issue, which is EJPPG0017E: Web application for context root /wps/PA_ is unavailable.

After initial analysis, I found that, portal server always trying to search web app context root of webshereportalserver 1 in server2 and 3 and errors out. Since web app context root of webshereportalserver 2 and webshereportalserver 3 are different from webshereportalserver 1.

To resolve this issue as workaround, I used update the same web app context root of webshereportalserver 1 in webshereportalserver 2 and webshereportalserver 3 server. After the update it is working fine.

Is there any other way we can fix this issue or any IBM provided steps / fix packs are available.

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks and Reg,

    Arun

  8. Re: after database transfer - WebApplication is not available

I am not sure if this way is totally supported, as far as I know they should be clustered , there may be another way but I am not positive, I will check with the install team and get back with you

  9. Re: after database transfer - WebApplication is not available@view=153@

Sharing database domains between 2 separate Portal instances is indeed supported in Portal v6.0x. However, the RELEASE and the JCR domains CANNOT be shared. I would recommend that you follow the procedure defined in the Portal v6 Best Practices RedBook which can be found at this link:

    http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstract...7387.html?Open

    Specifically, Chapter 5, page 275.
