I've gotten past my RMI problems by using the right distribution and
adding the extra RMI components.

I've now got a problem with starting J9 from a Linux initialization
script. J9 seems to want to have a controlling tty or it will not
startup at all. This behavior seems to be different from version 1.5
which we have been able to start without a controlling tty.

Any hints would be much appreciated. I'm running the armv4-linux (i.e.
Zaurus) max release version 2.2.
