  1. Help needed for wsadmin install

I tried to install my web services ear file on WebSphere 6.0 windows version using wsadmin. Originally I used the following command:

    $AdminApp install C:/regshobuild/RegSho/RegShoWS2.ear {-server server1 -MapModulesToServers {{"Reg SHO Project" RegShoWS.war,WEB-INF/web.xml WebSphere:cell=DA77133,node=DA77133,server=server1 + WebSphere:cell=DA77133,node=DA77133,server=IHS}}}

But I got the following error:

Then I tried the following command from http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/fo...stall#13779044

But I got a different error:

Would you please help me resolve this problem?

    Thanks

  2. Re: Help needed for wsadmin install

I believe your original syntax is the correct form to use. The error you
received refers to some problem actually installing the application. If
running wsadmin connected to a server / deployment manager, then check the
SystemOut.log for further messages. Another place to look is the
    wsadmin.traceout file in the profile's /logs directory.

The alternative second command syntax correctly results in a BSFException in
the scripting framework trying to parse the command itself.

  3. Re: Help needed for wsadmin install

    Hi Stephen

Thank you very much for your help.

I followed your suggestion to study wsadmin.traceout, but can?t understand the output. The following is wsadmin.traceout. Would you please examine the file and let me know possible causes?

I also checked SystemOut.log, but there is nothing related to the install problem.

    Again Thanks,
    Hong

  4. Re: Help needed for wsadmin install

Hi, there is something wrong with your JACL command. First, take away the space after the "+". There should be no space.

See if that resolves the problem.

    Brian

  5. Re: Help needed for wsadmin install

    Hi Brain,

I still got the error after removing the space after +. With the log level as info, the trace file does not provide the cause of the error. Is there any way I can turn on the diagnosis level if there is one?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hong

  6. Re: Help needed for wsadmin install

Hi, A quick way to see what is going on is to install the application interactively. Afterwards, you can look at the output trace and see the command the system ran.

    /bin/wsadmin.sh
    wsadmin> $AdminApp installInteractive ""

The output for the file is in the /profiles//logs/wsadmin.traceout file.

    Brian

  7. Re: Help needed for wsadmin install

You will see the error about "set argv {SHO ..." ... is this a line in your
script? The other error also looks like a truncated line. Perhaps you should
    post all of your script.

You can change the wsadmin trace level in file
    (profiles//properties) wsadmin.properties using property
    com.ibm.ws.scripting.traceString
