Thread: Disappearing text before text output tag

  1. Disappearing text before text output tag

    Hi,

    I've noticed some strange behaviour with WL8.1SP3... it seems to *eat* text before an other text-outputting tag like in the following example:

    [pre]

    aaaaa<bean:message key="message.key" />bbbbb

    ccccc

    ddddd

    [/pre]

    produces

    [pre]

    Message Textbbbbb

    Message Text
    ddddd

    [/pre]

    aaaaa && ccccc have been swallowed!

    Any idea ?

  2. Re: Disappearing text before text output tag

    Try wrappping your template text in:

    [pre][/pre]

    So you'd end up with something like:

    [pre] xmlns:bean="http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/tags-bean-el"
    version="1.2">
    aaaaa</jsp:text>
<bean:message key="message.key"/>
<jsp:text>bbbbb ccccc

    [/pre]

    ok, it's working this way ... :-), txs.

    Tomcat doesn't need thoses tags.
    Is it the normal behaviour or is it a bug in weblogic ?

  4. Re: Disappearing text before text output tag

    Seems like a WLS bug. The spec basically says that any XML element that's neither a standard action nor a custom action should have it's textual representation passed to the current value of out. See the JSP 1.2 Spec. section, "JSP.5.2.11 Other XML elements".

    ok, txs 4 all
