WorkShop to use a remote Weblogic Server
hi all !
I have installed WL Platform 8.1 SP3 on Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8 SPARC).
The bea home is /opt/bea and here are /opt/bea/user_projects with applications directory and domains directory.
I have one platform domain configured and active on the remote machine.
Then, I have Workshop on a WindowsXP machine (I installed all of the platform on the windows machine as well).
I am in development phase, and I need to use the remote weblogic server from the Workshop. This is to avoid creating an EAR file and then deploy it on the remote server manually each time.
I read the doc here:
I shared all of the /opt/bea directory to the windows machine, using Samba:
path = /opt/bea
read only = No
guest ok = Yes
When I try to create a new application in the Workshop, setting it to use the remote weblogic server, I get error "Access Denied".
Please, may someone explain what is the correct procedure to do such a thing ?
The /opt/bea dirs and files have these permissions:
drwxr-xr-x 8 root other 512 Aug 27 15:46 .
drwxr-xr-x 13 root root 512 Aug 27 15:30 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root other 851 Aug 27 15:35 UpdateLicense.sh
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Aug 27 15:34 ext_components
drwxr-xr-x 6 root other 512 Aug 27 15:35 jdk142_04
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 11140 Aug 27 15:35 license.bea
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 10076 Aug 27 15:35 license_scale_limited.bea
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Aug 27 15:36 logs
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 1800 Aug 27 15:36 registry.xml
drwxr-xr-x 4 root other 512 Aug 27 15:46 user_projects
drwxr-xr-x 3 root other 512 Aug 27 15:35 utils
drwxr-xr-x 11 root other 512 Aug 27 15:35 weblogic81
And I guess that the WL server is running as root:
root 10838 1 0 Aug 27 ? 0:43 /opt/bea/jdk142_04/bin/java com.pointbase.net.netServer /noconsole /port:9093 /
root 10840 10781 0 Aug 27 ? 4:37 /opt/bea/jdk142_04/bin/java -client -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_so
root 10795 10781 0 Aug 27 ? 0:01 /opt/bea/jdk142_04/bin/java -classpath :/opt/bea/weblogic81/server/lib/weblogic
Plus, I'm not really sure it's a good thing to share all of /opt/bea to Workshop...
I had to do that otherwise, if I shared user_projects only, it would complain on jdk location.
any help / hints?
