WebLogic Server 6.1 SP3 running on W2K
UDB DB2 7.1 for OS/390

When deploying CMPs WLS check the fields of the EJB by issuing a SQL statement on the form: SELECT FIELD1, FIELD2,... ,FIELDN FROM TABLE WHERE 1= 0.

This kind of select statements result in table scans on the DB2/390. Consequently the response time for the SQL statement increases with the number of rows in the target table. For large tables (100.000 - 5.000.000 rows) this results in WLS timeouting the transaction before the EJB's have been deployed.

If the SQL used for matching the fields of the EJB with the fields of the target table was adjustable this could be avoided.

ANy way to avoid this, other than patching WLS?
