    It doesn't

    Within a single node it is possible with exclusive concurrency strategy...

    But..but..but..isn't that sort of kind of, you know, required by the spec?
    Sorta like a guiding principle behind an "Entity" bean??

    Ya...

    Well multiple clients can work with the same data representation at the same
    time. But, that the same data representation can be loaded by few entity
    ejbs.

    Distributed locking and concurrency turn out to be hard and not quite
    performant...
