    A "technical" violation perhaps. But I've always thought of the Canter
    & Siegel "Green Card" mailing as the first spam.

    I concur with Richard Gilbert. This was a "directed marketing email" that
    went awry. The Canter & Segel Green Card went to everyone on the internet
    at the time regardless of the recipients citizenship/immigration status.
