This is a discussion on DTSS: EXTERNAL TIME SOURCE IS FAULTY - VMS ; I'm trying to synchronize a DTSS server to external NTP time provider. I get the following error, and I don't know what it means. Could it be that the skew is greater than the error tolerance? $ TYPE SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSMGR]dtss$ntp_tp.log [skip] ...

Some setup details are below.
My NTP server is on FBSD box on the same local net (10.10.10.1).
It's setup as UK, i.e. GMT+BST(british summer time):
% date
Fri 2 May 2008 13:05:16 BST
%
I setup each node in the VMS cluster to be also GMT+BST:
$ SHOW LOGICAL *time*
(LNM$SYSTEM_TABLE)
"SYS$LOCALTIME" = "SYS$SYSROOT:[SYS$ZONEINFO.SYSTEM]GB."
"SYS$TIMEZONE_DAYLIGHT_SAVING" = "1"
"SYS$TIMEZONE_DIFFERENTIAL" = "3600"
"SYS$TIMEZONE_NAME" = "BST"
"SYS$TIMEZONE_RULE" = "GMT0BST-1,M3.5.0/01,M10.4.0/02"
many thanks
