HP closed down DECpark in Reading some time ago. They "consolidated"
to their Bracknell site, so I'm guessing that all the VMS people were
    moved to there.

Where are you seeing that they are looking for VMS specialists ?

Big HP building at Bracknell (Amen Corner) just near the ski slope and
    the ice rink.

VMS support are there (as much as they are anyone place).

Where are these VMS oppourtinities advertised?

I pass it every day on the way to work. Didn't realise
that support lived there now. I've not seen any advertising
    either.

Prefix that with "artificial", and then yes, we do have them...

and what makes you think that that job is for HP?

    DCE, non current hardware

I don't think "non current hardware"necessarily means it's not HP, unless
policies and practices have changed radically since the days of DEC, when
finding current hardware was the exception rather than the rule in DEC
offices and datacentres in the UK. (Maybe the "61 HP datacentres into 6"
will be changing this, if it ever happens... just imagine the kind of
    Exchange setup that implies...).

How does Didier turn one advert into "plenty", or are there others he hasn't
    yet told us about?

Bracknell used to have VMS customers including BAe Dynamics (may now be
Matra BAe?) and Siemens Healthcare; current status unknown.

    regards
    John

There may be support people for HP in Bracknell, but the labs got
migrated up the M4 to a site near an old airfield IIRC. that's why
India support calls get directed through a Swindon number (01793)...

That site is just a datacentre with Operations staff onsite, not VMS
techies, most of their VMS support went out to Bangalore.

There are still VMS support people in HP in the UK. First line support
went to India. I deal with this people and its fine for me.
The people I know in VMS support in the UK are still there and have
    been for years.

Sorry, that was my intention to write but not what I wrote. You are,
of course, correct that there's no support people in Wroughton, just a
    data centre.
