I have a strange problem.
I mentioned this generally in veritas.backupexec.netware.english, but I
can now narrow it down a bit.

When a backup is done that attempts to use the DOS TSA to backup the DOS
partition on the server, the
Tape drive produces the following error.

Error on HA:0 ID:3 LUN:0 HP C5683A.
A hardware error has been detected during this operation. This
tape should not be used for any additional backup operations.
Data written to this tape prior to the error may still be
restored.
Possible corrective actions for this error are:
1.) Use a different tape
2.) Check the SCSI cabling.
Vendor: HP
Product: C5683A
ID: ??
Firmware: C908
Function: Write(5)
Error: Reset(8)
Sense Data:
70 00 06 00 - 00 00 00 0e - 00 00 00 00 - 29 00 00 00
00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00

Sense data suggest the drive or SCSI bus was reset.

This error DOES NOT occur when backing up only the netware volumes (24Gb
of them).

Just the DOS stuff.

System is a NEC Express 130SA Dual P2-400's 384Mb 3 x 8.9Gb embedded
Mylex DAC960PJ RAID config as RAID5.
Tape is a HP C5683A 20Gb native 40Gb compressed which is the only device
on an embedded Symbios 53C895 SCSI.
Using latest HAM's for both devices. Netware Version 4.11 250 user
Service Pack 9.
Backup Exec 8.5 with Disaster Recovery Option.
Any ideas welcome.

Kindest Regards
