  1. A communications failure has occurred between the Backup Exec job engine and the remote agent

    Hi,
My installation of Backup Exec 9.0 stopped working the other day. Every
attempt to run a backup ends after a prescan with "The job failed with the
following error: A communications failure has occurred between the Backup
Exec job engine and the remote agent."
As far as I am aware I have NOT changed any settings in my network. I have
done a few Windows updtaes during the weekend but nothing else.
The backup runs on a xp pro sp1 PC. The files to be backed are with a few
exceptions on a server (w2k advanced server, sp3 PC. This error message
started to occur on Saturday, and I cannot get rid of it.
I CAN browse the network normally, so I do have a connection.
I would appreciate all the help I can get, in the meantime I manually copy
the most important files to a safe location.
    /Stebble

Hi. I have the same problem. Did you find a solution for the problem yet?
    I'm very curious.
