I am attempting to format a VxVM volume on Windows Server 2003 EE and finding
that it hangs. Previous operations function normally. The environment is
odd - ssh to Windows through Cygwin.

vxdg -g test init Harddisk9
Successfully created dynamic disk group test
vxassist -g test make vol 100m DriveLetter=Z
Created Volume \Device\HarddiskDmVolumes\test\vol
DriveLetter Z assigned to the volume
format.com Z: /FS:NTFS /Q /V:test
The type of the file system is RAW.
The new file system is NTFS.

WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK
DRIVE Z: WILL BE LOST!
Proceed with Format (Y/N)? y

It hangs here. strace also hangs. I'm not a usuall windows user and am
trying to automate an operation through cygwin. Does anyone know why format.com
would hang formatting a drive?

Thanks
