Thread: Veritas filesystem on ISCSI drives

  1. Veritas filesystem on ISCSI drives

VXFS filesystem created on ISCSI drives are very slow when compared to VXFS
    filesystem created on local drives.

A simply copy of 2G file takes less than 2 minutes on the vxfs filesystem
created on local drives and the same copy takes hours to finish.

The Version of VXFS is 4.1. Test is being done Solairs 10 host and Network
    appliance.

Do i need to tune any vxfs kernel parameters?

    responses are greatly appreciated.

  2. Re: Veritas filesystem on ISCSI drives

compare the iostat values between the local drives and the ISCSI disks.
Then see if the speed difference might not be there before trying to
    tune anything
