Volume Manager 3.03 / Solaris 8 savecore: [ID 686316 auth.error] no dump device configured
All,
We have an E220R with an attached A1000 array. We installed Volume manager
3.0.3
and encapsulated the root disk and mirrored it. We are now getting the following
error:
savecore: [ID 686316 auth.error] no dump device configured
Here's dumpadm output.
# dumpadm
Dump content: kernel pages
Dump device: none (dumps disabled)
Savecore directory: /var/crash/oregano
Savecore enabled: yes
Trying to enable dumpadm fails
# swap -l
swapfile dev swaplo blocks free
/dev/vx/dsk/swapvol 172,6 16 4197856 4197856
/dev/vx/dsk/swapvol2 172,7 16 4197856 4197856
# dumpadm -d /dev/vx/dsk/swapvol
dumpadm: dumps not supported on /dev/vx/dsk/swapvol
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Try running /etc/vx/.dumpadm
