I have many details on VM manipulation. Try
    http://www.barkingmad.connectfree.co.uk/veritas.html

Basically it goes somthing like this:-

    vxprint -hmQq -g .. > /tmp/movers

This creates a config file for the volumes you specified.

You can then either deport the dg you want to merge (vxdg deport dg) or just
remove the disks you want to move to the new dg.
    1) umount
    2) vxvol -g stop
    3) vxdg -g rmdisk
    4) Add disks to new dg
    vxdg -g adddisk cxtxdxs2=
    5) vxmake -g -d /tmp/movers .. This rebuilds the subdisks/plexes/volumes
    without loss of data.
