Robot configuration issue - Veritas Net Backup
This is a discussion on Robot configuration issue - Veritas Net Backup ; I am running Solaris 8 on SunFire 280R and I have Sun StorEdge L9 robot (
one tape drive ).
NetBackup can see my robot as DLT standalone tape drive only and not as a
robot....

Does the sgscan driver see the robot ?
../volmgr/bin/sgscan
if not check that the sgscan driver run
../modinfo grep |sg (if I remember correctly )
here is the recommended firmware level : StorEdge L9 TLD 2.06
Finally :the device configuration guide provides further details about the
configuration

I am running the same configuration just fine. Did you correctly
set the SCSI IDs? You'll find in the L9 installation manual that
you need to set 2 SCSI IDs. 1 for the autoloader controller and
1 for the DLT drive. Also, run the command:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/sgscan -v and you should see output like
/dev/sg/c0t4l0: Tape (/dev/rmt/2): "QUANTUM DLT8000 0114"
