Does anyone know how to obtain these files:

    patchF0820307.tar.Z
    patchF0820307.README

Tech support is leading me on a merry chase, and
I don't seem to be getting anywhere. They are not
on any of the FTP servers I can access, and the
webmasters aren't updating the patch lists.

The documentation says these are cruicial.. but so
far it appears the software is running.

    I'm very confused.

I just downloaded a patch and installed on the NT client side. It seems
to me that the patch names begin with 'j' as opposed to 'F', as you state.
The letter 'j' stands for jumbo patch (many patches bundled together- cumulative).
I have also heard of the letter 'p' preceeding a patch, standing for a single
    problem patch.

I went to the ftp site:
    ftp://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/su...ckup_for_UNIX/

and found that the titles are as follows:
    jxxxxxxx..tar

    or
    jxxxxxxx.tar

The top seems to be platform specific, while the general one seems to be
related to UNIX clients. Also, once in this ftp path, click on 00_index.htm
for a description of all the files. My guess would be Veritas updates this
ftp site with the latest and greatest 'jumbo patch' that has been released
for each of the different products (in this case the product is Netbackup).

There are notes in the support area that talk about installing jumbo patches.
    Go to:
    http://support.veritas.com/menu_ddProduct_NETBACKUP.htm

This tech note (200600) talks about how to install jumbo patches.

Lastly, the name patchJxxxxxxx.tar.Z is the name that gets extracted out
of the jxxxxxx..tar using the command "tar -xvf " at
the UNIX prompt- refer to tech note 200600.
