  1. Email notifications

I am using netbackup 3.2 on Solaris 2.6. I want to have the server
Email me when it completes the backup jobs of all our servers and tell
me the status of each backed up machine. I have configured the email
notification but it is only sending messages that tell me the database
was backed up. Is there a way to configure it to email me the job
    status?

    Thanks,

We have Solaris 2.6, Netbackup 3.2.

In the bp.conf file I put in the line:

    USEMAIL = person_to_email@company

    Produces an email as follows:

    "Subject: Backup on client_name - 0 started

Backup on client client_name by root succeeded.

    File list
    ---------
    ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES"

Also might want to check in goodies directory for some script like
mail_bp_reports and do some local configuration.

    Not sure if this helps!

To receive only the backup failures !

you can monitor the latest logfile in the directory
    /usr/openv/netbackup/db/failure_history

produce a script outside netbackup to continually monitor this file an feed
that data into the mail command

    e.g.
    tail -1 /usr/openv/netbackup/db/failure_history/log.051000|mail -s "subject"
    me@anywhere.com > /dev/null 2>&1

    regards
