    If you are restoring using NetBackup, YES you need to have NetBackup client
    s/w installed on target unless you are trying to use tar through drive configured
    on that particular client, which is not a straight forward task with tape
    written by NetBackup.

    Yes. The client is required so that it can communicate using NetBackup
    ports and protocols.
