    Hi,

    Software install in PC
    - Using Windows 2000 Server SP4
    - Using Veritas Server Enterprise 5.1 MP4

    Device attached to PC
    - HP StorageWorks Ultrium

    Tape
    - HP Ultrium RW Data Cartridge C7793A (800GB)

    fOR YOUR information that this device is only can be inserted one tape.

    Im trying to erase media but then i encounter an pop-up message "This operation
    is not supported when assigned media are selected"

    NetBackup won't let you shoot yourself in the foot by allowing you to
    erase (physically wipe the data off) a tape, if the NetBackup catalog
    says valid images still exist on the tape.

    If what you mean is that you no longer want any of the images that are
    stored on the tape, use the bpexpdate command (at least on Unix ..
    perhaps Windows also):

    bpexpdate -d 0 -m

    where the "0" says expiration in 0 days (now!) and "" is the
    media ID.

    Once there are no longer any valid images, then NetBackup has utilities
    to relabel or long/quick erase.
