Sounds like egrep is choking on /etc/services. What does /etc/services look
like? What is bpinstall passing to egrep? What does the egrep binary look
like? Make sure it hasn't been replaced by a rouge binary.

I have a customer who is running Netbackup Enterprise edition 5.0 GA on solaris

While upgrading the version to 6.0, the installation gives the following
error after the message "Installing Netbackup Enterprise Server Version:
6.0" during the execution of the install_bp script.

    ################################################## ##########
Installing NetBackup Enterprise Server version: 6.0

Checking /etc/services for the needed NetBackup and Media Manager services.
