I am trying to execute an « Application Backup » of Oracle 10G version 10.2.0.1
with an RMAN client running Linux RedHat Enterprise 4 as well as a NetBackup
5.1 MP 3 Master Server client on a Windows 2003 Server.

On the master Server, the following error codes #1 and/or #2 are present
:
#1 Error 6 ‘The backup failed to back up the requested files’
#2 Error 25 ‘Cannot connect on socket’

In the RMAN script logs, both errors #1 and/or #2 are present.

I already tried the fixes described in documents 275115, 276854, 274335

1- 1. Change the TcpMaxDataRetransmissions and TcpMaxConnectRetransmissions
to the values below HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters

2. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry
value:
Value Name: TcpMaxDataRetransmissions
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 10

Value Name: TcpMaxConnectRetransmissions
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 3
2- The workaround is to enable legacy encryption (40 or 56 bit) or to disable
encryption for Oracle clients.
Note: 128 and 256 bit encryption, now called Standard Encryption, is a new
feature in NetBackup (tm) 5.1.
Note: This problem may also affect database agents for DB2, Informix, MS-SQL-Server,
SAP, and Sybase.
3- . Follow the procedure below to enable the VNETD feature for clients involved:
How to enable VNETD in NetBackup 5.1 master server
1. From the admin console, open the host properties of the master server
2. Select the Client Attributes properties
3. Click Add to add the desired client
4. Highlight the client name and then select the VNETD port option in
the General tab as shown below

Unfortunately, none of these modifications have been helpful.

Thank You,
