See a SUN robot from Media Server in Windows
Hello.
We have Netbackup Enterprise Server on a Windows 2000 server, on that machine
we have a robot. We have too a SUN Enterprise 450 server, with another robot
on that server.
Is it possible to share that robot (the one on the SUN) on the Netbackup
console in the Windows 2000 server? So we could make backups from the Netbackup
console on that robot.
We have the UNIX client LIcense for the SUN.
Thank you very much.

Re: See a SUN robot from Media Server in Windows
Maybe "sharing" is not the right description.
In my understanding "Sharing" means to share the tape drives in a Robot with
several Hosts (Media Server) where every host must be physical attached to
the tape drives in the robot (e.g. in a SAN environment). In detail you only
sharing the tape devices, the robotic control may be managed by one single
Media server.
If you just want to use the "Sun-robot" in your Netbackup environment you
have to upgrade the Sun to be a media server (you need a "Server" and a "tape
library support license" for this). On your Netbackup Master Server you have
to configure the new media server.
