    if the media requested by a restore is not physically within a tape robot,
    the restore will sit waiting for the tape. If the tape is loaded and a robot
    inventory is done the restore will still sit waiting. you'd have to nudge
    the restore via running "vmoprcmd -resubmit x" where x is the mount request
    number you'd see when you run vmoprcmd command

    maybe this will help - i wrote this scrfipt to run via cron every half hour
    24/7 to automatically tell us if a restore was sat waiting on a tape that's
    not in the tape robot....

    #!/bin/ksh
    #
    # - first check if NetBackup is running or not.
    #
    if [ `/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpps -a|grep openv|grep -v grep |grep -c openv`
    -eq 0 ] ; then echo "This email was generated by script that checks for pending
    restore requests - '/home/richardb/pending-restore-requests.sh'" | /usr/ucb/mail
    -s "NetBackup doesn't appear to be running - pls investigate ASAP - nthsunbackup
    @`date +%d/%m-%H:%M`" emailaddy@somewhere

    else

    # - if NetBackup is running, ONLY THEN check for pending restore requests.
    #
    if [ `/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmoprcmd|grep "Read "|grep -c Read` -gt 0 ] ;
    then /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmoprcmd|grep -v STATUS|grep -v TLD|grep -v Comment|grep
    -v Drive|grep -v Control|/usr/ucb/mail -s "outstanding NetBackup RESTORE
    requests -nthsunbackup @`date +%d/%m-%H:%M`" emailaddy@somewhere

    else
    echo

    fi
    fi

    That may not be exactly what you wanted but hopefully it's helpful anyway....
