  1. Robot going offline

I am running NB 5.0 MP5 on a W2K server. There is an Adic Scalar 218M robot
that is the only device on we have. My problem is that the robot drops
offline after every backup starting last Friday, May 13th. I have not made
any changes in anything is several weeks and everything was working good
before Friday. I have even deleted the device and rebuilt it using the
wizard. Does anyone have a clue whay the thing keeps dropping offline? I
will be glad to supply any more information that I can

In addition. If you up the drive after it has dropped off it will drop back
    off after about a minute.

    Thanks

Check the Windows system and application event viewer logs but it
sounds like a hardware issue to me. Also, just to be sure make sure
your scsi or fibre card drivers are up to date. There were issues with
devices dropping off with older driver versions. What service pack is
the Win2K server? There was also one other issue with a change in the
latest Win2K service pack. It caused the OS to continuously poll the
tape drive causing it to drop. That was fixed by installing the
Veritas Tape drivers which didnt pass along the poll or with a
    registry change.
