Hyah all, Just a quickie ...

If you have an Oracle agent already configured for a test database and you
want to chance the config file to move over to the live database, when you
change the config do you have to restart the whole cluster??

    Dave,

you should use the following procedure:

1.) all servicegroups in the main.cf you want to replace with have to be
    frozen
2.) hastop -all -force (stops VCS on all nodes but doesn't affect the application)
    3.) save /etc/VRTSvcs/conf/config/main.cf
    4.) copy your main.cf to /etc/VRTSvcs/conf/config/main.cf
5.) do a hastart on all nodes
6.) check that all servicegroups are completely online
    7.) unfreeze

    This procedure guarantees no downtime.

    Cheers, Kozoroh
