VCS and cron jobs
I've been using a wrapper script for cron jobs on a VCS cluster
that first checks that a VxVM diskgroup is on the local machine
and will only run the cron job if this is the case. We then
install application cron tasks on all machines in the cluster,
but they only get executing on the one with the corresponding
I wanted to do it by checking for the VCS Service Group being
local, but it seems that you can only check this as root, which
is no good for my non-root cron jobs. I now have a Service Group
that does not have a diskgroup associated with it, and have to
think of a new method.
Does anyone have a more eelegant solution ?.
Re: VCS and cron jobs

Unfortunatly, you run the risk that one crontab maybe out of
sync with the others.

could execute it as root maybe... I'm doing something similar with
