  1. BE9 Folks: do you live with 'Job Failed' every night?

Well, our Win2k/Exchange2k cluster was rolled out over the weekend, and my
first official tape backup job ran last night. It appears to have backed up
everything I told it, except for 2 mailboxes. 1 disabled one, and 1 that
will probably never be used. Even though it says 'Job Failed', I can live
with what it didn't backup. Do any of you others just live with 'Job
Failed' every night, as long as it appears to be backing up everything?

It all depends on why it failed.

I've learned to live with "Job Finish With Exceptions". I battled Job
Failed for weeks, until I discovered the agents on the remote machines were
not installed properly. You probably looked at this already, but I had to
uninstall and reinstall the remote agents.

Another key I found, was that if you are using OFO, you should install the
OFO and it will automatically install the remote agent.

    Worth trying...

    Best of luck.

    Hi Jorge,

first you need a license for OFO (no, I don't work for Veritas ;o) ), and
second you're gonna have other troubles with OFO installed. I don't like it
much and use it only for file servers.

    Regards,

    Lars

Yes, you're right. I don't use OFO either. There seems to be very specify
conditions that must be met in order for open files to work.
