  1. Exec 9 Issues - Claims I am using Ad. Open File Option

I am getting the the following error on a local backup of a 2000 Advanced
    Server:
(Server: "XXXXXX") (Job: "Test") The job completed successfully. However
, the following conditions were encountered:
    49 file(s) were skipped.
NOTE: The backup job was configured to use the Advanced Open File Option.
However, files were skipped during backup processing. Please ensure that
the Media Server XXXXXXX is properly licensed with the Advanced Open File
Option, or that the job is properly targeted for media servers that are licensed
with the Advanced Open File Option.

I do not have or use the open file option and it is not selected in my Job
(grayed out). Any one have any ideas? Thanks.

Seth, I am having the same problem. Although I have two additonal pieces of
info. that may help you or someone else provide a solution to this problem.

    1. Rececnly we tried to add some servers to our SAN using BE9.0 - we had
purchased the Adv. Open File Option - but NOT ther required SAN Shared Storage
Option. The problem started after these servers/sfw added to the SAN.

    2. Along with this alert on each backup job we are seeing the following in
    each job log.

Unable to open the item C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr0.dat
    - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr1.dat
    - skipped.

Hope this helps. Please respond; maybe we can work this out together.

I am also receiving the same message and we have the Advanced Open File Option
license. The log shows that AOFO starts on the device ("OFO: Started for
device: "\\SERVER\C:". Advanced Open File Option used: Veritas Volume Snapshot
Provider (VSP).") however it is "Unable to open" critical files and skips
them. The job's log reports completion as "Successful with Exceptions.....27
    files skipped".

The AOFO doesn't get everything. Those files are the Queues for BITS. If
you aren't using BITS then it is irrelevant.
