Re: Saving Backup job specification to file for reuse
From the Job Definitions Tab, right click/New Backup Job.
Choose the servers/files to be backed up, specify any options, set the
schedule, the click on "save job"

Re: Saving Backup job specification to file for reuse
Ken,
Thanks a lot for your contribution.
But when I meant saving to file was actually to save the job in order to
import it in another BENT installation or re-installation...
TIA,
Kind Regards,
Rui Vilao.

Re: Saving Backup job specification to file for reuse
Sorry,
I've never tried this, but the job definitions are kept in the file
named JOBS7.DAT. You could try renaming the existing one and copying,
but I you would need to, at a minimum, verify that the device names
existed on the new server.
You can clone an entire BackupExec server by copying the entire
...\BackupExec\ directory to the new server, then installing the same or
a later build on top.
See http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/206901.htm for a list of Key
Configuration files and what they contain.

Re: Saving Backup job specification to file for reuse
Hi,
if you save the Folders Catalogs and Data at yout Backup Exec Folder you can
restore the Job informations if the Services of BackExec are stoped.
