Not through the GUI
I think you could do it with BEMCMD, but don't remember the option off the
top of my head.
Why would you want to wchedule this any way?

Re: Newbie - Scheduled Eject (Device Job)
Should be on the Install Media in the ..\Utils directory.
From a CMD prompt you can do "BEMCMD /? > BEMCMD.TXT to get a list of all
the switches and what they do for reference.
If you use different media sets, when the incr kicks off, if the overnight
tape is still loaded, it will kick it out and wait for a new tape.

Re: Newbie - Scheduled Eject (Device Job)
Thanks for the reply Ken,
I manage backups in 7 different cities and want 'last night's' tapes to be
ejected before a noon incremental starts. I depend on someone in each
office to remember to replace the tape, and they tend to forget 2-3X a week.
I'm also fairly new to Backup Exec, can you tell me where I can find
information on BEMCMD?
Thanks!

Re: Newbie - Scheduled Eject (Device Job)
There is a tick box on the job settings or options tab (not in front of a server at mo so can't check where) which tells backup exec to eject the tape when the job completes. Is this what you are after ?
Cheers

Re: Newbie - Scheduled Eject (Device Job)
Thanks Simon, initially I thought that would solve the problem, but then I'm
stuck creating different jobs for Fridays only as I run SS incrementals on
the same tape....I've found the switch for BEMCMD, it is /o115. I will try
this and report back.

Re: Newbie - Scheduled Eject (Device Job)
Update:
I created a batch file that will do this for me, it works very well! I will
now create a task to do this at a specified time, thanks for all your help!
