  1. HUH: EXCHANGE 2000 on a CLUSTER not supported by VERITAS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

So I get great backups via Backup Exec (BE) and a Remote Agent for NT
(RANT). But backing up Exchange 2000 information stores with BE sucks
because no RANT support. Anyone else dealing with backing up an Exchange
cluster? I expect 200-300 MB per minute and I get 80-100. I found this
    SEER article:

    http://seer.support.veritas.com/sear...earchTerm=exch
    ange%20cluster&Path=seer%2esupport%2everitas%2ecom%2fdocs%2f24187 7%2ehtm

And it basically says virtual servers do not get RANT support. Before I
toss Veritas out the proverbial window. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

The 1st thing is that what BE doesn't support is installing the remote agent
on the virtual drive because as it's virtual it has no registry settings.
Then if you have Exchange set up in a cluster your best option would be to
install BE on the cluster and as cluster aware

    Hope this helps.

yes and the minumum licensing for cluster aware for a 2 node cluster is

    2 advanced server licenses
    2 remote agent licenses
