  1. All jobs automatically go to "pending"??

Hello all, I am new to backup exec, and I have been having a problem with
it. I am using version 8.50 rev 3571 on a windows 2000 server. The problem
I am running into is that every time I go to run a backup now, it automatically
goes into "pending" mode and never comes out......as I understand it, one
reason why it would ever go to a "pending" state would be because of over-lapping
schedules, but even if there is nothing running, and nothing else scheduled,
I can perform a "run now" and I still have the same problem.....what other
things would cause this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.....thank
    you

    Jeff,

I had this problem once and the cause was one of the BE services stopped. I
think it was "Backup Exec Engine". This failure was due to a corrupted file
in the catalogs directory (something .idx)
