  1. NT startup: Job Engine hangs due no e-mail.

    On the startup of NT40, these notices, than two errors. I use Eudora as the
    default mail. What is happening here? Thanks /Howard

    Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
    fulfill the
    messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default
    mail client.
    OK
    Then, At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use
    Event Viewer to
    view the event log for details.
    OK
    Then, observe in the EventViewer that
    The Backup Exec 8.x Agent Browser service depends on the Backup Exec 8.x Job
    Engine service
    which failed to start because of the following error:
    After starting, the service hung in a start-pending state.
    AND
    The Backup Exec 8.x Job Engine service hung on starting.

    I'm currently experiencing the same problem with BE 9.0 remote agent on Windows
    2000 Server, all patches and BE current.

    The service runs under the service account. Not sure how I'd configure Outlook
    for the Service account even if I wanted to.
