  1. Overwrite operation temporarily failed on several jobs

since 5 or 6 days some daily differential jobs regulary using the same tapes
every 13 day cannot use the tape witch is normaly to by used. The job runs
using a new tape from scratch pool.
This happend on different jobs from different servers.
The media set these tapes are from are configured right: Overwrite Protection
13 days, Append Time Infinite. The Tapes should be ok.

  2. Re: Overwrite operation temporarily failed on several jobs

If the backup job on that tape ran logn for some reason, the overwrite time
    may be one day off.

I generally set retention for a day less than the number of days just on
case (ie in this case, set the retention for 12 days).

You can check the status of the tapes by running an inventory job. Tapes
that are overwritable will display in blue, those still protected will show
    in black
