Thread: Tape size?! What's going on here?

  1. Tape size?! What's going on here?

I have three NT4.0 SP6 servers (one running exchange 5.5 SP3) being backed
up. The total in MB is far less than the amount on the tape but when the
backup runs it ends up running out of space. Does anyone have any idea
    what's going on here?

  2. Re: Tape size?! What's going on here?

    Be a litle more specific.

What kind of tape drive, what kind/length of tapes?
    How much data total?
How much data backed up when it asks for another tape?

  3. Re: Tape size?! What's going on here?

Here is the log file (I aborted becuase it asked for another tape). I'm
using a DLT 120 tape (40/80) with hardware compression enabled. Perhaps I am
not correct in thinking that I should be getting over 21GB here?

  4. Re: Tape size?! What's going on here?

Which drivers are you using Veritas manufacturer or MS?

Is compression enabled (you're right, you should be getting 40GB native,
    tho)
