  1. backupexec 8.5, Exchange 2000 and IIS folder traversal patch

Ever sice I installed the Folder Traversal patch for IIS
    (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec...n/MS00-078.asp),
BackupExec has been failing with the following error:

Unable to attach to \\server\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage
    Group.
    The item was not found.

Problem is probably more exchange related than BE related but I couldn't
find anything on the exchange NGs so I'm posting it here too.

    Thanks,

    Shahid

Are you running NT 4 or 2000?
If you are running NT 4 you will need to install or reinstall SP6
and then reapply the patch we had to do this on all NT4 machines here.
There was some problem with the dll's that hosed the machine after SP6 fix
the problem we didn't seem to have any problems with 2000 but it may be worth
a shot to reinstall the service pack.
